A pop-up advert offered a free sample of a face cream, I had a small problem face skin, try the free sample,£4.95BP p&p. after 3/4 weeks not seen anything. thought slow or not sending. some days later tradesman delivering fuel (logs) saw small package in log store, (with the paper recycling ), looked for delivery card which was behind draught excluder at unused door. Next bank statement nearly £600BP been taken by Mail order company, saying ‘terms and conditions say if I haven’t cancelled within 14 days they assume the right to deliver at £89.00 pounds per jar every month. (1ounce of cream per jar and no it didn’t do a damn thing to my skin) Contacted bank Barclays, very helpful at first back charged company. Today 17/01/20 letter from bank fraud dept saying in effect the mail order company are in the right and if I wish to persue the claim I need to collect more information. The delivery was not known to me for nearly four weeks as the small package was left in the log /paper recycling store only to be noticed by a tradesman delivering logs and by the time I opened it it was about two weeks past there deadline for cancellation, thats when I searched for the delivery card, lost behind the draught exc., behind a long unused door, a few days after which a second delivery arrived which stated my alarm bells ringing, and I hope you can see why! As a registered disabled pensioner approaching 70, I cannot afford to have that sort of money taken for nothing and having recently lost my wife after a long harrowing illness, (19 years) this is just about the last straw, is it worth carrying on, I used to think ‘customer was right’ but it seems now that its take what you can from from as many as you can’ Yours sincerely Kevin Hutchinson
